about
Written at the end of a tour, Yellow Lines is the story of a tempestuous love affair with the road. It speaks to the challenge of busyness and the pull towards adventure, and in turn, the hold that home and the people we care about have on us while we are away. When faced with the discomforts that sometimes come when choosing an unconventional life path, you get to decide if the hardship is worth the joy. It’s a mixed emotion kind of song. A juxtaposition. From a deep desire to travel, live, and experience, to early mornings and late nights, long car rides, and short-fuses. Yellow Lines poses a tipping point and realization of how necessary it is to manage your own well-being in the beautiful mess of following your dreams.
lyrics
[Intro]
You are the road and you keep on giving.
You are the hold and you keep on taking.
Oh you are the wheel,
And you can’t stop, turning.
[Verse 1]
People warned me about you.
They said, “you can’t get nowhere fast enough.”
They said, “you can’t get nowhere far enough.”
They said, “the world ain’t god damn big enough for you.”
[Verse 2]
I think I’ve wanted you my whole life.
I wanna see the world and all it’s got.
I wanna squeeze out each and every last drop.
I wanna find every last god damn spot of you.
[Chorus]
Yellow lines between us.
Yellow lines point me, point me home.
Yellow lines,
Yellow lines.
[Verse 3]
I pride myself on withstanding.
They said, “she’s managing this pretty well.”
They said that “if she’s cracking you couldn’t tell.”
But if I couldn’t take it, I wouldn’t tell you.
[Verse 4]
You hold me feverish and wanting.
I wanna slide into your waking dream.
I wanna see a blur of brown and green.
I wanna piece together a life that seems too good to be true.
[Chorus]
[Intro Reprise]

Family is what ties The Pairs together. With soaring harmonies, they share stories of life’s hope, hilarity, and hardship.
An honest, quirky stage presence and their unbottled chemistry, quickly connects them with their audience. The line between the stage and the crowd becomes blurred as if we’ve all pulled up a seat around their family’s lively kitchen table.....more
